Peace of Mind Plans

Peace of Mind’s first ever Disability Centered Emergency Preparedness Workshop on 9/11/26 was a wonderful evening of community connection and education. We hosted expert speakers such as:

  • Albany County Sheriff Aaron Appelhans
  • Emergency Management Assistant Kayla Rizor with Albany County EMA
  • Erica Mones (POM Board Member, Disability Self Advocate, Wyoming Independent Living)
  • The President of Greener Paths Michelle Crandall
  • Officer Evan Kamerer with the Laramie Police Department (Crisis Intervention Team Certified Instructor)
  • Fire Chief Jason Holloway
  • Jasmine Parten – Training Coordinator with local fire departments, leads our local CERT program & First Responder Youth Camp

Peace of Mind is extremely excited to announce we are now offering free preparedness consultations and Peace of Mind Plans: comprehensive, physical copies of emergency preparedness plans to keep at home, at work, and on your person.

Our emergency preparedness questionnaire used for consultations was developed with the expertise of the above mentioned and additional local emergency preparedness and disability experts, with special focus on preparing for the needs of loved ones with disabilities.

Take a look at our new webpage to learn more, and sign up to get your own Peace of Mind Plan!

Thank you to the City of Laramie and Albany County for the grant funding that makes this community initiative possible. Thank you to our workshop sponsors and donors: the Holiday Inn, Albany County Emergency Management, and Glen at Allied Universal Event Services. Thank you to our workshop ASL interpreters Esther Hartsky, M.A., and Lucy (Lew) Carter.
